He sees Capitalism as Darwinian Economics, OT. Classic Marxist premise. Exploitation of the weak brethren; wealth inequality. So he's out to bring down the 'evil' power and it's influence on the whole World. And he's doing a damn good job; thanks to the gutless Congress.

It only plays for a time. And then collapses. Of course, all the suffering won't be his fault. We greedy people didn't listen.

Bottom line...NO...he's does not believe in the Principles that America was founded on. So he's out to "fundamentally change" it. He's a subversive traitor, irl. But few in power will call the duck a duck.
