Trump consistently said even back in his rallies they are going to have to be patient, said it again the other day. I’ll wait and see, you can obviously not believe him. Doesn’t bother me if he pulls extra tariff money to give them short term help if it works out in the end.

So, utopia is right around the corner, eh?

Sorry, I’ll use my deductive reasoning and conclude that taxing 30% of the economy (which is what tarrrofs did) was stupid. Anytime the government removes $300 billion plus from the private sector it is a bad thing.

The only thing that will prop up this economy is the massive deficit spending.

Or what if the government brought in more money to make up for deficit?

You mean like tariffs?

That will end up being rebated to the population?

*ETA: but for a more serious response, we cannot grow out way out of the debt. The math simply doesn't work unless you believe we can grow our GDP at insane levels.

It's not stupid if you're a politician wanting to buy votes with voter's own money to stay in power.

Reminds me of the scene in Naked Gun where Leslie Nielson and the Dock Rep trade $20 dollar bills in exchange for info.

Dont really need to.

Tariffs will either cause the economy to drag or Donny will lift them. Those are the only options available.

We know what happens in trade wars.

Huh? Are you denying the the government had to bail out Intel by buying an equity stake in the company? Are

Trying to tie Intel to the Trump tariffs is obfuscation of the highest order. Thanks for your attention to this matter though

2 types of socialism

The intel deal is "owning the means of production" socialism. Very strong Marxisst ideology.

The tariff rebates are "redistribution of wealth" socialism. More of a modern-Western welfare state version of socialism.

There you go, throwing out a stupid word and acting like you've slam dunked on Michael Jordan. I think you actually do better when you simply post laugh emoji's.

You probably won't admit it now, but you LOVED Obama. I don't recall that you ever criticized Obamacare, yet you act like Trump is Che Guevara on steroids.

Just curious, but why haven't you made a single post commending President Trump for holding the line against the true Socialists who want to give 100's of billions to illegals? I dare you to answer that question.

Again, I disagree, but I do hope for the best. Can’t predict future. We may all be dead tomorrow

Economics predicts outcomes, based on objective facts, math and human behavior.

You too can predict the future with a few minutes of research..

Ok want yet another example?

LINK

quote:

Kent Chairman Arnold Kamler told BRAIN the company will stop production at the end of June for a variety of reasons but said if things change in the future they are open to restarting. Kamler has said high tariffs on the China-made components and frames used at the facilty made it impossible to assemble the bikes profitably in the U.S.

As far as restarting...

LINK

quote:

Perfection Industrial is auctioning machinery, tools and other equipment from Kent International's BCA factory here.

Kent closed the factory this summer, with the company saying that assembling bikes in the U.S. would not allow it to compete with complete bikes imported from China and elsewhere.

It's worth looking at the auction... LINK Tell me what you notice?

Objectively false. Multiple posters ITT can verify how wrong you are.

Yes, the guy who had a recurring theme of posting threads about the ACA premium increases punishing good decision-makers never criticized Obamacare

What does that matter when he's going to run a Bide-esque deficit while ignoring passing an actual budget and going the CR route, again?

Here is my thread from July 2024 on the issue
