I'm going to ask for a lot of you smart Constitutional people to chime in on this one.

I've been reading up on the process for a constitutional convention. One has never been call for since the founding of this nation. It is also only one of two ways to legally amend the US Constitution.

As I understand, it takes 3/4 (39 states) to call for such a process.

With the threat of Socialism, the huge corporations taking over key area like the media and the internet, is this the non-violent revolution needed before it's too late? Can the states take this nation back to a Constitutional Republic with amending the Constitution in such a way that the intent of the founding fathers in made iron-clad?

It could backfire. We would need a fairly comfortable margin to ensure victory and push through new and much needed amendments such as abolishing the anchor baby loophole, strengthening our 2A rights, shoring-up our borders and limiting SCOTUS to nine members as well as enacting term limits on Congress ... it needs to be done but it would be a very tricky maneuver.

You want to amend it to put in intent?

Depends on which portion of the Constitution is being amended. A Constitutional Convention is not a blanket call to amend anything and everything. The proposal must be specific.

Mark Levins liberty amendments would be a good place to start.

That's what I'm asking. What needs to be changed? What needs to be Clarified? What needs to be repealed?

You could go through many of the key amendments and modernize the language. Like religion. Does freedom from church in state mean the absence?

A good place to start is to leave it the frick alone and start reading it by it's words and not by someone's fricking feels.

I don't know if you could find a group of people that we could trust not to royally frick it up. You see what "we the people" continue to put in Congress, right?

It’s pretty clear this approach is failing miserably.

I'm pretty sure it's only 2/3, which would take the burden down to 37 states. It may not seem like much, but it's a big difference.

Not sure I agree with you except for Obamacare with regards to SCOTUS decisions which is what really counts.

First, who specifically are the founding fathers?

Second, you do realize the people responsible for forming our government had very different ideas as to the role of the federal government, right?

Honestly I don't think this would turn out the way proponents suggest and hope.

Go ahead and research the 17th amendment for me and then let me know how adherent we have been to strict interpretation. This shite has been going on for over 100 years now.

Honest question: How so?

While I would agree the culture is trending in the wrong direction, I certainly do not think the Constitution is failing.

People would be better off taking their guns to the southern border in huge numbers and putting an end to this Illegal Immigration mess. That would help this country more than anything.

I think the 10th Amendment is the one that's been neutered
