From my perspective, this is a question for benefits departments. If you want talented people to work for you, you have to take these sorts of questions into account when developing a benefits package. If a company decided to not conver the preexisting conditions of new employees who had no lapse in coverage, it could limit their pool of available employees.
Aye. But those businesses DON'T pay to cover the preexisting conditions. The other employees and other insurance subscribers pay for it -- not the employer.

Did you know that cancer is also determined by environment and genetics?
None of this matters. People like to say "he didn't chooooose to get cancer" as if not choosing cancer absolves them of responsibility for paying for their own care. But it leads to the obvious question... what did their neighbors do to deserve to shoulder the burden?

Too many have come to look at "insurance" as a way to avoid personal responsibility. It is nothing of the sort. Insurance is a tool for risk mitigation. Not for dumping personal expenses off on other people.

Covering preexisting conditions is an absolute must these days.

Once you hit sixty your going to have lots of pre-existing things in your charts.

Should someone only be allowed to get medical insurance after getting a complete exam to ensure they don’t have undiagnosed, pre-existing conditions?
