I’m firmly of the mindset that the only way you achieve regime change and securing the uranium is with troops on the ground. It isn’t something I’m cheering for. It’s a necessity.

That’s been my position from day 1.

The administration claimed that the Iranians said they have enough uranium for 11 bombs. They cannot walk that back and expect the American public to act as if they never said it. The regime is still in power and has proven themselves to be untrustworthy in general and rather bloodthirsty when dealing with protesters. The Iranian people have been repeatedly told to hang in there and wait it out until the right moment to reclaim their government. That’s regime change. It comes with enormous risk to both us and them. But we made a promise. Turning our backs on them shouldn’t be acceptable.
