I’ve dealt with anxiety for a while now, and the COVID arrival spiked things for me a bit. Sports and traveling were my two biggest outlets in life. COVID pretty much took those things away from me.
The racial tension has worsened things. Sports are replaced by talking heads giving me daily updates on the political feelings of college students. Our morals and political views are being compromised by kids.
Our elected officials are erasing history right in front of us. It’s not just the statues. It’s the fact that nobody can be judged for how things were in the respective era.
Our elected officials are siding with criminals on national tv, and any voice of reason is muted.
It’s incredible, and sad. Our cities will become dangerous, ruinous piles of rubble. There seems to be no end in sight.
I think I crave some baseball. I also crave celebrating America’s pastime on the 4th of July. Those days are not coming. This was all supposed to be temporary, and instead it is a cocktail for the end of times.
I know life will go on. Hopefully, I’ll be able to have kids with my soon-to-be wife, and with any luck, some grandkids. For a while, I thought my worst fear was having a son who wanted to hack his penis off to become a woman. Now? It seems that there are even worse things.
I assume this isn’t the end. But I’m trying to tell myself that anything CLOSE to normal won’t happen in the fall or winter. It won’t happen in the spring, and maybe not in 2021 at all. Will team sports return in 2022? Can I freely travel to a BnB that happens to be an old plantation? Can I go to the northeast and walk around downtown of a major city without experiencing the left tearing places apart?
