The entire country is red outside urban centers. Hence why we’re a democratic republic and not a democracy. Even though we’ve drifted to a democracy starting with the direct election of senators. Which needs to be fixed

Most of Illinois is empty until you start getting to Springfield and Champaign / Urbana. Most of the population is crowded into the Chicagoland area.

Agree with everything you said but I’d say if we did paper ballots and hand counts we the R’s would destroy the democrats in the popular vote. I’d bet my life on it.
