Obviously Democrats are more into this idea than Republicans are because Democrats tend to reap more of the partisan benefits of stuff like this, but any honest person has to admit that there do exist several good reasons for such a policy.
Offering a state ID to illegals inevitably will decrease hit and run and therefore make law enforcement’s job easier. That helps everyone.
The fact that it will make Minnesota slightly bluer isn’t as important.
