If cops killing black people is such a crippling strain

on the black community, let me pose this simple scenario.

Imagine there were zero black deaths at the hands of law enforcement for the next year. Zero. Let’s make it 2 years. Screw it, 3 years! ZERO black deaths by the police for the next 3 years. Across the entire United States of America.

Wow, we just instantly solved the biggest obstacle faced by black folks. No need to riot anymore. No need to burn down buildings. Right??

So... what about these inner city communities is now magically better? More jobs? Better schools? More opportunity? Less violence? Do children suddenly grow up with caring fathers?

Is ANY of THAT better?

You know, it would be so easy for many of us to get behind this movement to truly help the black community. But this just feels hollow. It’s like bringing in a patient to the ER with massive internal injuries and the doctors are focusing entirely on a broken arm. They successfully put the arm in a cast but the patient is still DYING.

Yes, it sucks what happened to the guy in Minnesota. Shouldn’t have happened. But acting like this is Black America’s biggest hindrance is an absolute joke and makes people less willing to get behind their cause. Just my two cents.
