I was thinking about this last night, the poorer and more broken this country is, the better it is for them.
Because they control goverment, they get to pick who wins and who loses in the economy. They can set up punitive green taxes, like carbon offsets, that benefit their cronies for example. And it may hurt the economy, but it still makes them rich.
It doesn’t matter if most people are hurting.
And if we’re all poor broken, we won’t be able to offer meaningful political resistance.
