"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them."
Thank God we don't have to abide by the Olde Testament anymore.

When did "faith" become a bad thing for Christians?
Only when / if certain denominations veer off into false teachings and compromises of God's Word and Laws. (i.e. Church "Apostates.")

Orthodox don't believe that.
The Church of Christ doesn't believe in musical instruments. They all see things their way.

Maybe atheists are right, maybe you are right. Maybe it’s the Jehovah’s witnesses or the Mormons who interpret it correctly.
That's what I find fascinating about aggressive atheists. By their worldview Christianity, even if 100% false, is every bit as valid a moral structure as whatever they've come up with in their head. All morality is subjective, so Muslims who circumcise little girls are just expressing a cultural preference; they're not really doing anything objectively wrong because there's no such thing. Take the most hillbilly, snake handling "God hates figs" "Christian" you like, and his moral code is just like yours; an opinion.

Hear ya (and your sarcasm)
The OT remains legit. And connects both Prophecies with the NT prophecies.
Dietary "Laws" are not the same as "Laws" like the ten Commandments.
Some people may be confused by OT events and laws that were laid down specifically to Israel, THE people God "chose" as His exclusionary examples of the
cautionary, heroic, cowardly, obedient/disobedient...and subjects of Reward and Punishment.

You're also right on the the idols (aka statues of likeness.)
They are expressly and plainly declared verboten by Scripture. (Though the vatican / RCC is festooned with them.)

Mark 12:30-31
New International Version
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”
Anything added to this is wrong.

What are you babbling about?
.....and I might ask this of you. Why do you continue to respond so defensively to my assertion? It's no secret there were those inclined to go the Monarchy route. Evidence of the uncertainty was revealed in the question Lady Elizabeth Powell asked Ben Franklin, "What have you given us, Mr. Franklin, a Republic or a Monarchy?" To which Ben Franklin replied,"A Republic madam, if you can keep it."
Why don't you just come out and say it? You believe the U.S. Consitution is a racist document drafted by a bunch of old white guys of European origin.

As a matter of fact, I find most of the so-called "Christians" on this board to be extremely hateful.

presenting this as historical fact immediately removes any credibility you have.
No, it doesn’t. This is, typically, how an argument between an atheist, and a theist goes.
Atheist: “There’s no evidence for the existence of God.”
Theist: “Here’s some compelling evidence; compiled by and agreed upon by Christian and non-Christian experts in their respective fields.”
Atheist: “That’s not evidence. I don’t believe it.”
Rinse and repeat. All the while, the atheist is the one who can provide zero evidence to support his/her belief.
I can only submit the evidence. I can’t believe it for you. I wish I could.

Interesting commie take. If I don't support handouts, I'm evil.
The message of opportunity and merit benefit humankind far more than your bleeding heart drivel. Only children take social media seriously.

Funny how they don't take this approach with other philosophies, or even interpretive history.

Yup.
Like adding political / gender identity and ideology to Scripture.
While...subtracting OTHER Scripture that condemns exactly how these Apostates are doing to the Church.
Think God will be fooled?

Exactly how normal people feel about you bleeding hearts. You've had 60 years of war on poverty and you've done nothing but create generational poverty.

Absolutely! What the world needs is more self absorbed atheists….that’ll make for a more functional and wholesome society.

So you're saying we're still supposed to remember the Sabbath, and to keep it holy? We're not supposed to worship Jesus on the Cross? How about that pesky First one where we're not even supposed to elevate Jesus up to God's level?
Christians have quite obviously been led away from God.

There is a yuge difference between "hating" certain policies and "hating" individual people.
Related tangent: Can't certain policies indeed be hurtful AND "hateful"?
The socialist either won't or can't make the connection - for whatever reason(s).
