I think his decision to bypass the federal govt in many cases and partner with private enterprise to combat the epidemic has earned him a lot of points. It’s extremely clear to anyone watching that this is in his wheelhouse. He understands the limitations of govt and the power of private business. He understands logistics and supply chain issues. He’s simply not looking at the govt to solve it but instead going right to the sources that manufacturer critical supplies. Where there is a shortfall, they’ve gotten innovative through partnerships. Hell he brought in Walmart and Target to help with the logistics of drive thru testing.
