Trump didn't shut much down, state and local governments did. More important, even before they got around to it, many large private organizations made the choice to discontinue work that couldn't be sustainably continue in the face of the virus.

Actually I didn’t. I said he should have never encouraged any shut down.
You know what would have happened then right?
Every single death would have been attributed to who?

You didn’t say anything about a forced shut down and neither did I. You keep moving the goalpost.

I’m asking a question, did the federal government force the states to shutdown?
And did the federal government force the cities/states to continue their shutdown after the 14 days?
What cities and states imposed their own shutdown prior to the federal one?

I know, but when you talk about the facts of the entire handling by trump you can’t actually come to such a conclusion.

To the fricking FLU!
I mean since when does DJT care about being labeled as something. Jezze petes they called him a racist for shutting down flights from China in Jan. His actions when shite got real don't reflex his past four years mantra. I called his bluff in 2016, chickens are coming home to roost.

I’ve answered this numerous times before. No the Feds didn’t force a shutdown of the states because its was probably out of their legal powers to do so.
But yes, the Feds did give strong encouragement for states to shut down and passed Bills to encourage said shut downs.

No, they didn't the help perpetrate it.
Well no, but when you march the scarf queen and dr fricki up there every day telling us all we are going to die, you are trying to suede people the other way.
All of them, and each was unconstitutional...that is when the admin should have stepped in wrapped in the constitution and threatened arrest of governors in violation.
You see Trump was damned in March just as he is now in May. The only difference is the frickING mess we have now.

No, you said it was a federal guideline. Never said whether or not it was mandated. Which is why I was asking.

They did encourage a shutdown, but there was no mandate. Why? Because each and every state/city is different. It would have been irresponsible for the feds to provide an approach for the entire country. So instead they have guidelines.

What executive order did Trump initiate to shut down anything? What was the enforcement clause of this ordinance?
With great power comes great responsibility.
It's not what they did, it's what they didn't do.

So in essence, anyone who wants to Monday Morning QB this mess was likely never going to be in Trump's corner anyway because anyone looking at this reasonably would understand the circumstances and chalk things up to a shitty situation that was a tough call and even tougher with the way the Diarrhmedia spews its non-sense.
I coming at this from the perspective of a Trump supporter who fears he’s made a decision based on bad advice that could doom him. I’m not trying to place blame on Trump. No one man should ever have this much weight thrown on his lap.

We must honor federalism, each and every state should have the ability to act according to its own problems/abilities to handle said problems.

That isn't how anything works. or asked another way. what exactly did that shut down? Maybe some federal departments, but all the business that are closed around the country that are subject of all this protesting were shutdown at the direction of governors, mayors and CEOs.

He didn’t make a decision, he provided guidelines that the states could or could not follow. The states and local governments then did what they felt was the right course of action. Which is in accordance to federalism.
