the only people talking about civil war is this board and far right leaning social media types. this board loves a civil war. they love to have revisionist lens from the first civil war and would love a second one to proof they can wipe the dems...

Agree to an extent.
One positive of an American Civil War is the idiots on the far left and the idiots on the far right would begin killing each off while the sensible moderates in the middle would kick back and collect the benefits.
And think of all the sexually frustrated widows left behind.
It might not be a bad idea.

Boy is the next few years gonna come as a shock to you.
Remember, leftists have a violence thermostat that they bump up constantly.
Conservatives have a switch. It won't be incremental. When that switch flips, you people are toast.

quote:This has been a trope since the early days of the board, back when a few of these guys were at least young enough and fit enough to survive a week or two of actual discomfort. Fast forward 15 years and we are still doing the same ritual, except now the average poster is pushing 50, 5'8", 250 lbs, and typing it between statin doses and CPAP adjustments.
About two years ago this board was filled with talk about how there would be a civil war in America in the next five or ten years.
And yet like clockwork, there’s a weekly thread about the imminent civil war. Same tone. Same fantasy casting themselves as the main character.
At this point it’s not a prediction, it’s a meme. There may be a civil war someday, but it won’t be fought by the chairborne rangers of Politalk, whose primary combat-readiness issue is getting off the couch without giving away their position by groaning too loudly.
The revolution is apparently scheduled right after lunch and before early bedtime.

Not gonna be another Civil War in the US.
Only on TD, FB, etc bc both sides have life going on and ain't nobody got time for that.
Just whine and complain and go back to work or go play video games as usual.
It will all be better when he is gone and everyone can move on.
