I don’t have time to explain to you the difference between flying on an airplane and your rights protected under the constitution. Thanks for playing.

Due process is really what we’re talking about. Intelligence can be wrong. As can accusations. Under no circumstances should a no fly list be the basis for restricting constitutionally protected rights. I don’t think it’s too far of a leap to think the democrats would love nothing more than to add conservative groups to watch lists and use that as the basis for gun restrictions. It’s why due process is so important.

We have expedited hearings on TROs and those hearings offer due process. TROs restrict constitutional rights.

Why can’t we have a system modeled off of that?

I like the GVRO idea in theory, my hesitation are the activist judges (both sides have them) on this issue. If Judges absolutely ruled on the law I’d be fine with it.

With regards to the DNFL, do you know how long it takes to get a redress number if you have a name on the no fly list that is yours and not you?

You mean as the investigation is ongoing? We could, although TRO’s have been proven to not work time and time again in certain capacities. As the basis for gun restriction, it could work. The fear is expansion and abuse.

Where do you think carry conceal holders should not be able to carry?

Isn’t concealed carry a states’ right issue? Not federal? I could be very wrong about that though. I’ll be honest, I don’t know the concealed carry laws that well. It’s not restricting the right to own a gun though.

Right now states are very much controlling the issue.

For added effects, this person is on the Do Not Fly List.

I just want to know where some of you draw the 2nd Amendment Line, if at all.

Yes. Next question.

So if you are a US citizen but on the Do Not Fly list, would you be in favor of taking away their 2nd Amendment right?

I think taking away a persons priveledge to fly is less serious than taking away a persons right to self defense. For that reason different processes should be required.

Probably the best argument in the thread. This is pretty convincing in many ways.
