Yep. Our electoral system, Single-Member District or First Past the Post is heavily criticized as being the worst types of electoral systems. Though it varies many other advanced democracies use Proportional Representation or at least a mixed system.

ETA: SMD/FPTP systems also inevitably leads to two-party dominance.

Fixing the FPTP is the biggest issue to tackle if we ever are going to have true reform. I don't see it ever happening, because the people we need to pass it would be the ones harmed by it.

If you aren't familiar with this issue there's a good series of youtube videos which explain it in a non-partisan way:

I already stated it was sarcasm. I agree with your point, had I been serious. Though let's be honest his response could've been more nuanced and intellectual than I hate that fricking bitch.

will literally have to rip up our Constitution and create a completely new system. assuming you could get enough support to rip it up, we'd never come to any sort of agreement on how to implement a new system.

also our primary systems kind of eliminate these issues of plurality and minority representation. i suppose a modified jungle primary like we have in LA would be the best primary system to even things out.

CCP Grey's system is more aligned with a proportional-national system that isn't divided geographically like our federal system

also, the VRA would make any "rank your candidates" voting system illegal. the underlying philosophy of the modern VRA application is that minorities are incapable of adjusting to electoral change and need every advantage and benefit of the doubt (note: i do not believe this, but the VRA and most of the modern debates center on this issue). i mean one jurisdiction got in VRA hot water for simply removing party identification from its ballots

Kennedy voted with the former, not
the latter.
