Then I'd tell the Federal Reserve and international banking cartel that if they want Syria they'll have to take it themselves.
Amen. ETA Saudi Arabia and Qatar are also complicit in funding ISIS.

quote:Assumption: Obama has no other motivation than just being a fool. May be a faulty assumption. He has consistently shown himself to be anti-colonialist - which is to say seeing the US as the chief colonial power in the world at present, he has systematically done whatever he can to weaken the US position on the world stage (see: economy, military, diplomacy/foreign policy) and destabilize us from within (see: class warfare).
this fool (Obama) refuses to learn from history or his own mistakes.
But almost in self-contradiction, ever wonder why it is primarily Obama who uses the term "ISIL" when practically everyone else uses the term ISIS? One can suspect his insistance on ISIL has some nuanced meaning that escapes most of the rest of us.

Obama was criticized for not supporting the rebels in Syria.
Wrong, he was criticized for not supporting them enough, big difference. He supported them as much as he could short of direct intervention. Perhaps he should have listened to the Russians and Iranians instead of trying to please everyone. He is the President, someone will always criticize your every move, that does not make them right. Here are a few linkies for your enjoyment.

And who can forget this quote:

Rebels “offer the best alternative to terrorists and brutal dictators,” the president said
ISIS is 100% a creation of this administration, we created the environment for them to flourish after the Iraq pullout and then armed, paid, and help train them. I do not think they are the big bad wolf like some on this board, but responsibility falls directly in President Obamas lap.

Stop sending money over there
Let them fight it out until there is only one group left
Kill that group
Let them fight it out until there is only one group left
Kill that group

Contract it out; private industry would hire the most badass guys on the planet. Make it an incentive type contract; complete eradication of ISIS worldwide would mean a 25% bonus for all.
Somewhat tongue in cheek, but that might work. If anyone has read Jeremy Schahill's book about Blackwater, you know that if given the opportunity, these types of services can render tremendous results. The problem is how they fit within existing treaties and agreements and also that their respective human rights related issues may prove problematic.
A secondary problem would be that every special forces operator that could leave the military would leave the military to enjoy higher pay in the private sector with less oversight on their performance and actions.

Hammer hard targets with airstrikes. Blackwater, US Special Forces (seals, delta marine recon, rangers), CIA terror experts with a blowtorch and some pliers on the ground. Go in hard and do not let up.

quote:That's what seems so inconsistent to me about anti-Colonialist in Chief Obama. He opposes what feels to him like colonial intervention in other countries. But he intervenes and seems supportive of a movement that has massive colonial (Levant/Caliphate) ambitions (ISIL). His policies seem to have set the stage for them to advance. And yet now he wants to degrade their power and influence.

I do think ISIS/L is a bit Bad Wolfish because as the two Americans were beheaded, the black garbed guy with the sharp knife promised worse for us over here. Maybe that was a threat and maybe that's something they intend to accomplish in their own way and on their own timetable.

Remember their largest goal right now has to be recruitment, take the sales pitch with a grain of salt. There are millions of Iraqi's alone with pent up resentment against the US right now, rightly or wrongly, anything anti US resonates with them.

I wouldn't care if the Spec Ops guys get out and make bank........and then I'd let them back in. As far as human rights, war isn't civil but I get your point.

Why doesn't Obama just send in Seal Team six? I thought they could handle all the world's problems.
It this supposed to be serious or some sort of smart-arse statement?
