Just for clarification. Andrew Wood is a former British ambassador to Russia. He now works in the private sector and as been involved with things like the British-Russian Chamber of Commerce, etc.

What Simpson is saying here is that McCain and his aide (Kramer) just happened by pure accident to run into Andrew Wood at a conference in Halifax where the dossier was brought up. Kramer later decided to follow up on it and contacted Chris Steele himself in order to try and score a copy of it for McCain.

Simpson continues:

So I told Chris he's legit. David [Kramer] is someone I've known for a long time and he knows a lot about these issues and he's very concerned about Putin and the Kremlin and the rise of the new Russia and criminality and kleptocracy. So he said, well, can we trust him? And I said yes, I think we can trust him. He says he wants information to give to Senator McCain so that Senator McCain can ask questions about it at the FBI, with the leadership of the FBI. That was essentially -- all we sort of wanted was for the government to do its job and we were concerned about whether the information that we provided previously had ever, you know, risen to the leadership level of the FBI. We simply just didn't know.

[He continues here saying how badly he and Steele wanted the FBI to investigate. I am skipping it for brevity]

QUESTION: Did Mr. Steele represent to you that Orbis or Mr. Wood had initiated this contact with Mr. Kramer and Mr. McCain to share the dossier information?

SIMPSON: Well, that has two parts on that question. I think I can answer the first part which I think answers the second. Anyway, he did not describe this as having been initiated by Orbis. He described this as a chance encounter at a security conference where, you know, someone who had some knowledge of these matters shared it with Senator McCain and David Kramer and that caused David Kramer to follow up with Chris and that it was passive. In other words, it was initiated by Mr. Kramer.

Now the Congressional staffer is about to lay the boom:

QUESTION: According to the official attendee list for that conference, Mr. Akhmetshin was also there. To the best of your knowledge, was he involved in any capacity in the effort to discuss the dossier information with Mr. Kramer and Mr. McCain?

SIMPSON That's the first time I've received that information. So I don't have any knowledge.

In case you don't know, Akhmetshin is one of the Russians who met Don Jr. on June 9th at Trump Tower. And he just happened to be at this conference rubbing shoulders with McCain? I mean the media played it up as if this guy and the lady lawyer were two agents of Putin and that the meeting proved "collusion" with Trump. Remember that? And now this Russian guy is at a conference in Canada with McCain and many other prominent globalists? Pure coincidence, I say! Not only that but Simpson admitted in previous testimony that he had dinners with the lady lawyer and Akhmetshin the day before and the day after their meeting with Junior. Yet he didn't know Akhmetshin was at this conference with McCain?

By the way, you can see videos from the conference on YouTube. Pretty much every speaker got up there and bashed Trump endlessly. Said he was a Russian. Said Russia is taking over the world and we must "defend democracy." They played videos about how evil Brexit is, how dumb Trump voters are, and how awful Germany's AfD is. They kept talking about how great endless immigration is and how we need more of it. They all seemed concerned that nationalism and populism was interfering with their plan for a world government. These are the types of people that were at the conference, in case you're wondering.
