Politics 101: Take over small local (city and county) offices and set the agenda for your community. That’s how a movement gets started.

The Regan Revolution was in part was started by the citizens of Orange County, CA in the late 1950s/early 1960s. Set the stage and agenda, create grassroots supports, move up the ladder and recruit others to run as well.

It’s also how to take over political parties. Join the county Republican committees and get like minded folks to as well. Take it over

That is how the radicals took over. Small steps.

I'm toying with the idea of doing it in the future, I am trying to get more work experience first. Will probably consider it when I am in my early 30's, not a ton of people will be wanting to vote for a 20 something who has only worked for a few years. Especially if they are buds with their current state rep. Georgia will be a blue state for the foreseeable future so idk if it would be here or elsewhere.

You would be very surprised. Today’s political scene is ideal driven. You got good ideas give it a shot. At the very least you don’t win but have built a network for a future run and built influence

Absolutely they did. I was on several Democratic committees at the time and saw it coming. The old guards absolutely would not take it seriously. Today their seats are held by young radicals

Honestly I am kind of waiting for the Georgia Republican Party leadership to implode in 2022. Abrams and co will win this state (bank on it) and we will probably see a purge of the old state leadership who blew a 28-3esque Senator and State Rep lead. That might be when I realistically start looking at my options until then I am focusing on helping where I can with the few people under the gold dome I do trust.

That's pretty damn close to what I told my friends who asked that question 40 years ago.
I said: 'I'm not good at lying.'

Only idiots who want their lives to be ruined by the media and Twitter run for office. The people in office are the ones left after everyone with sense declined to run.

This is the thing... I was asked to run a couple of times and I always told them when I said no that even if I managed to get elected that I would not get reelected... They always wanted to know why and I told them that I wouldn't lie to stay in office and if something was bullshite, I would not support it even if it was a net benefit to my district...

I don’t understand this line of thinking. Let the radicals take completely over and destroy our freedoms because someone on Twitter might say mean things?

Holding local power can absolutely help blunt the radical agenda.

Not the line of thinking at all. I choose not to subject myself or my family to constant harassment and demonization based on my political views. I also choose not to become a prostitute for campaign money. Blame our toxic-arse social-media driven culture if anything. That's why qualified and smart people don't run for office.
