Just because knows of and predicts said 'free will' choices does not undermine the validity of those choice. It's our baby (heaven or hell), we rock it.

When it comes to defining 'hell', we could assume that separation from God is a form of eternal death. Albeit that is measured in linear time. Any thing that exist, does so for the (relative time) duration.

If true Evil exists as the manifestation of the opposite of Love, then there indeed is a hell far more painful than mere death. The likelihood that Evil does exist as a Spirit, only in opposition to the Jesus Model, makes philosophical sense as the traditional Lucifer/Fall narrative depicts.

When that Spirit Beast crawled up out of that pit and called James Woodford by name, as James had not invoked the protection of Jesus Christ...that was the real thing. And it should and will put fear in the heart of any person who knows Love and grows to the level of Spiritual Awareness therein. Awareness in this current Reality is not immune to or even focused on one singular Side, as awareness in general encompasses BOTH sides. The more Spiritual a person becomes, the more aware and vulnerable to Evil the person becomes. "Throw one unclean spirit out and 7 takes it's place'.

Get Jesus if one wants protection for spiritual trouble. Or ride herd as far one's flawed intellect and will allows.

Yet religion had no influence on you? Because you're special, right? Or is it that you're enlightened?

It isn't hard to see that religion is a cultural expression just like many other things. I can remember being in my hotel room in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, earlier this year and looking at qibla pointer on the ceiling that was put there to indicate the direction to Mecca. You won't find one of those at the Holiday Inn in Nashville, Tennessee.

quote:

So you think intellect and willpower makes a good character?

It doesn't matter what I think does or doesn't constitute good character. That's not the point. The point is if you tell me you have a friend who can lift a 25,000 pound dumptruck over his head with one arm, it is irrelevant if he has blue eyes or brown eyes, volunteers at a homeless shelter or beats his wife, prefers Coke or Pepsi. No other details about him are going to make me any less skeptical that your friend can perform feats far beyond human capabilities.

Similarly, you can tell me many wonderful things about Jesus, Christianity, the Bible, whatever. And I think there's good advice in places. But none of that is going to convince me that a 500-year-old man rounded up all the world's species and put them on a boat and survived a flood that covered Mt. Everest.
