I dont see how anyone can blame people for mistrusting everything the government or the media puts out regarding this virus.
Almost all evidence of govt activity suggests that policy decisions are based on
1) Self-serving interests
2) Incompetence
3) Covering up said incompetence
Sorry but I dont believe even people like Dr Fauci can make unbiased conclusions or decisions without considering some kind of political implication, especially considering hes been schmoozing around DC for decades.
The media is beyond hope considering they are outright publishing Chinese propaganda and passing it off as real news.
Trumps intuitions were right from the very beginning. Its easy to say he made a big mistake going forward with issuing the lockdown guidelines(which were never mandatory) but I really put myself in his shoes considering it is an election year, I cant say I would have done anything different at the time.

Every citizen should have a healthy skepticism\distrust of government. Why do you think the founding fathers installed checks and balances? We should critique every government action.

I do not trust the gov't, I have a brain. I listen to what the two Drs are saying in the press conference and they are making logical, scientific sense. Things they are saying are exactly what experts in their field are saying at the LSU Vet School and other locations. I do not need to trust Trump, he is following good advice from the scientist. I think he is doing a great job of balancing the needs of containing the virus versus the needs of opening the economy back up.

The ancients that divined the future by looking at the entrails of chickens were not that much different than us. These models are 80% presuppositions.

That does not matter, he is a scientist and what he is saying is within the scientific norm. That is the difference between a person of logic and a person who uses his job to dismiss what he is saying. Data does not lie, he is giving good sound advice regardless of his job or political beliefs.

80% is a bit silly. They are more like 25% supposition because at this point much of the data they are using in the model are no projections, it is real data. That is why the model gets better and better with each day. I guess you really do not understand the concept of modeling with and without data. The entrails of chickens would not be as accurate, if it were, we would be reading the entrails of chickens.

You can’t.
Take the SBA loans:
“They will be forgiven!”
Loans go out.
Rules change.
“Well.. only parts will be forgiven and we’ll send you a 235 page document explaining it”
