Looks bad for dems in midterms.

I disagree. If the deficit/projected deficit is still $2 trillion in 2026, which it will be, it is bad news for the GOP.

Eliminating Medicaid FRAUD

Is not the same as “cutting” Medicaid

What were his stated issues? Do you know?

Yes, I do. But by all means, please enlighten me.

Absolutely not. Do your own research. I don't work for you. I've clearly demonstrated that I know exactly what his issues are over the many days this has been discussed on the board already.

Get ready for a blue landslide in the midterms if the senate passes this.

Taxes have to get behind abortion and tariffs in line to ensure Democratic wins for generations.

Or so I was told.

Voters don't really care about the deficit or the debt. It's purely a conceptual construct to them, not one they think impacts their day to day life.

That's why politicians on both sides pay it lip service but never actually address the issue.

and to deliver on Trump's pledge not to tax Social Security benefits, the bill would allow for an extra $4,000 deduction for people over the age of 65

Also said the no tax on tips/ot wasnt in this bill. Wrong again?

No tax on most tips is in it. OT got a pittance- no income tax on the 50% premium payment for time and a half through 2028.

Neither were exempt from payroll taxes.

Seniors get a $4000 deduction, not a credit, when they could be paying taxes on up to 85% of their SS benefits? And it caps at 75k MAGI? And it’s only through 2028?

It’s a failure.

I can guarantee none of my clients will view this as no tax on SS.

Never understood the aversion to new posters. Are we just supposed to spam posts until we hit a certain number or wait a year until we post on the political board?

I’ve been on TD for almost 7 years, primarily on the Rant for sports. It was 5 years before I knew there was a PT board.

I’ve been a politics/news junky for 40 years but I knew enough to lurk, read, absorb and get the lay of the land before I jumped in here. I still have only started I think one topic on the PT board.

You have to know if you’re a newbie you’re going to be met with skepticism by board veterans. It happens on any message board. You’re free to post whatever you like but clearly this is a conservative, MAGA-dominated place. If you come from the left you’re going to get pushback.
