Sounds like an end-run around the 2A to me.

That’s the dead giveaway that it’s Obama pushing this shite behind the scenes thru his puppets.

His “constitutional scholarship” consisted solely of looking for ways around that “outdated” document which he had nothing but contempt for.

Yep, no way this would be abused... You know all the LE officers have got our backs, right, right?

The orders can either be short-term, lasting for a maximum of 14 days and issued without a hearing,...

So just keep filing every 13 days?

And good luck getting back anything taken by police.

What are the penalties for fraudulent submissions (i.e., "swatting")?

They still haven’t punished women for lying about rapes.

This is actually a good thing. Red flag law is very reasonable and has broad Republican support. How obtuse are you to think that anyone who has threatened someone in society should be allowed to have a gun? It's utterly unconscious to give a mentally ill person a weapon that can kill many people in a very short amount of time.

Passage of the measure came one day after the House cleared a sweeping gun package that, among other provisions, called for raising the minimum age to purchase a semi-automatic weapon from 18 to 21 and banning civilian use of high-capacity weapons.

I'm gonna use this thread to make a slightly different point.

People ask all the time why the entire nation has shifted to The Left over time. This is why. When The Left is in power, they make progress towards their actual end goals like this.

The problem is that when The Right ultimately takes back control, they won't take a look at the country as it stands and start immediately undoing everything The Left has done BEFORE then starting to move the count to The right they way the Left does. At best, they'll MAYBE halt the expansion leftward while DEMS work more effectively as the opposition.

We vote for these clowns, but they never shift the window back to square one and then start to make the country more right leaning. They simply assume that the new status quo is the correct starting point and then fight over THAT ground, rather than actually taking back ground previously lost.

If you honestly, sincerely wanted to put a dent in gun deaths in this country, the last place you'd start is with AR-15's, red flag laws, or a 21 year old age restriction.

If you were objectively looking at the facts and trying to put a dent in murder-by-gun numbers, you'd start with building more prisons and putting violent recidivists behind bars and getting rid of the revolving doors of justice.

Or, since the Constitution isn't absolute, lets look at demographics of gun murderers and target that demographic specifically to curb gun crimes.. since the constitution isn't absolute or whatever dumbass thing you said above about the constitution. Ban gun possession by any black male under the age of 30, because the constitution isn't a suicide pact, right?

Yep.

I'm gonna need an explanation as to why the 2nd Amendment isn't absolute, yet the 14th Amendment would be.

If it goes down like that a lot of cops will be killed…they won’t be able to replace them fast enough.
