House Democrats will offer $1 billion in funding for border security measures in a bill to reopen the government next week, a Democratic source told CNN on Saturday.
CNN reports that none of the money will be eligible for use in construction of President Trump's signature border wall as Democrats view other border security measures as more effective. LINK

Trump should actually laugh at the offer.
Should ask Speaker Pelosi if she thinks the San Diego wall is immoral. Should ask her if she would sponsor a bill to remove the San Diego wall.
Should ask her why she has the immoral wall around her 2nd home.
Should publicly remind all the folks out of work that he wants to protect the country both physically and financially, whereas the liberals are protecting people breaking the law.
Nobody is stopping legal immigration. The caravan folks can try the legal process any time they want.
You liberal clowns have chained yourself to law breakers over the needs of your own voters. That is an actual fact. Not subjective. It is a fact.

The dems are going to cave. This is the first crack. After Trump bitched slapped Pelosi Thursday by cancelling her gubment flight, the first dem offer gets floated a few days later. I think his message was loud and clear, and that is he is not afraid to play dirty and brawl with dems in public over border wall funding. They now realize he's simply not going to cave and none of the old political tricks are going to make him back down.

An honest media would hold the dems accountable for the bold part. That is all this really boils down to - they do not want Trump to claim he fulfilled his campaign promise. It is nothing other than that.
