Yes there have been lots of death the last couple of days, but things appear to be turning the corner for the better in our country's biggest hot spot for Covid19 since hospitalizations are on the decline.

The death numbers in NYC aren't going to show a decline in the recent numbers but death numbers will decline in the coming days/weeks since hospitalizations are on the decline. And with a lot of people running away from NYC to go elsewhere, that will help things out since they are going to places with less population density. Sure there is some new spreading by the new movement, but it's not severe.

That is a huge decrease the last couple of days. This is what I was hoping for, but sooner.

I suspect NCY will have peaked in the next 7 to 10 days for new cases and the death rate gradually drops.

Things aren't as dire in NYC as the media hypes it up to be. Other states want to control the spread so it doesn't become a problem.

In some states, there are numerous counties with zero cases, 1 or 2 confirmed casses and those are coming from people who traveled out of the country.

"Walling" off the country is what will have saved our country hundreds of thousands of deaths since Covid19 is lethal for those with heallth issues and weak immune systems - regardless off age.

As of 9pm last night (3/28)

65,902 NYC tested
30,765 NYC confirmed cases
672 NYC deaths

LINK /

So that gives us a death rate of 2.1 but that is only for the confirmed cases. The real death rate is obviously below 2.

of course.

Simply because there are now less 70+ year olds with underlying conditions, that were ripe for dying anyway, and just needed a extra little push,

Build a wall around it and remove all respirators, cut all aid. Remember Cuomo, conservatives are not welcome in NY, people who believe in gun ownership, right to life, protected boarders are not allowed in NY. We 100% agree Mr Cuomo, but the feeling is reciprocal. BMF’er

Yesterday Florida intercepted a NYC man that was COVID 19 infected as he was getting off an airplane from NYC. They had to take him straight to the hospital.

This means that this a-hole potentially infected hundreds if not thousands of people. His sorry arse needs to be prosecuted. He said he felt recovered enough to fly.

From what I’m hearing, they’ve invaded the beach condos all over Florida. Us Floridians have always resented New Yorkers because they’re so rude. This kind of thing is going to take it to whole new level.

The amount of people who actually left is small in comparison to the number of people who live there. It’s not like a million people left NYC.

Thanks for the post. I’ve been looking for hospitalization data over time. The rate of change of hospitalizations due to the virus is the most important metric IMO.

Most of the people leaving NYC are the ones with the means to do so....second homes, family in other states, and the like.

The number of cases and deaths out of Manhattan is low. The cases and deaths are coming from Queens. Anyone with a brain cell knows why there is a difference in where the deaths are coming from in NYC.

These are strange times.

Media reports make new York sounds like it is a war zone.

It's interesting. Too soon to see a decline in hospitalizations from either shelter in place or people moving out.

So u wonder in hcq helping out a lot in New York?

It's almost as if something is being used to treat this and get people out of hospitals or prevent them m from going in.

We will see.

If this keeps up, their death rate will drop in a couple of days.

This would be great, but looking for trends over such a short time frame is mining for fools gold. They're are so many variations that could result in numbers being off some days. Is every hospital documenting and reporting with consistency every single day? Did one hospital get overwhelmed and not report. Or on the flip side a hospital could have things slowing down and is catching up on testing and reporting. And weekends are notorious for delays, especially when it comes to paperwork.

Another factor to consider would be how long they are hospitalized for. From what is being said, they are saying 10-14 days is the average.
