Has anybody ever done a study on the relationship between Ole Miss and homosexuality?

Yes. Chances are very high had you gone there and are currently living in New Zealand.

I thought the article was very interesting and googling some of the studies; he makes a great point.

He is a Christian man, and may have had some bias; but he isn't the one who actually did the study.

I also do not believe alcoholism to be a disease. It was claimed to be a disease in the 1970s to ensure that the insurance companies paid for the treatment.

The "genetic" factor that was brought into homosexuality didn't need money for treatment. What could they possibly need it to be "genetic" for?

ORLY?

Don't know about you LC, but I got away with plenty.
Laying down with a dude was not a desirable end.
Perhaps you and I are different in that regard though.

Then its a context difference. I was responding to the post that claimed "alcohol can kill.."being gay can't".
Well...yes it can..from AIDS. I in no way meant to state that simply being gay kills you from AIDS, just like consuming alcohol "kills". It, like AIDS can kill. When the illness first became known, it was isolated into the gay community, thats why it was called GRIDS. Without the active and promiscuous gay lifestyle at the time, the disease easily spread to other demographics. There is a correlation with the cause/effect..

I have a condition caused by both genetic and environemtnal effects.

You have to have the right genetics, a high white count, and be exposed to a certain area of the world ( in the ME) to develop this hyperactive immune condition.

It would be like.. if only 1% of people with blue eyes develop it, but everyone who catches it has blue eyes.

Born gay? hell no.

Born with the possibility of becoming gay? If the conditions are right.

I know many families where 1 kid grows up and becomes an alcoholic just like dad, and the other doesn't come close. Personal choices, perception of the world. developed morals. too many factors to narrow it down to a specific cause.

"i was born this way" is just as big an excuse as " well everyone else was doing it".

We don't understand the motives of animals nearly enough to even qualify such behavior as bona fide homosexuality.

Still doesn't negate the argument that homosexuality may have natural causes. The same behavior in animals certainly suggests it may be natural and still does nothing for your argument against.

The fact is, we don't know enough about human sexuality to qualify any behavior as naturally occurring or not.

The OP never stated this. It's states that the natural causes were MINOR.

Being gay is mostly defined by the insertion of a hardened organ into an orifice of the body that is not designed for insertion. Unlike the female organ, it does not come with the reinforcement and lubrication designed to aid in the forceful push and friction, that eventually ends up tearing the lining

You DO NOT want to tear the lining of the digestive system. Mixing of the acids and fecal matter directly into the blood stream causes a myriad of potentially fatal issues. AIDS is just one

Pregnancy is not a disease. You're spinning into the absurd. Eating can kill...walking across the street can kill, etc, etc.

If you were born gay, why doesn't the doctor say, "Mr and Mrs ---, you have a beautiful baby boy; and he's going to be gay?"

It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense, really.

What's the reasoning behind the Party of Victims NEEDING to have this be a "genetic" condition other than keeping homosexuals on the Democratic Plantation?

If its genetic, you can't help it. That makes everyone who doesn't agree with you a bigot. Enter the lawyers and a gob of sympathy, pity and money for you and them.

For the people ITT that feel they must reconcile their beliefs on homosexuality with their religious beliefs, what about hermaphrodites?

Are they just God's accidents?

Exactly here is a list of all genetic problems known at birth: (probably many more left out but here's a start)
