IMHO that is not the best topic for a homily or sermon in church. Stick to the theological topics.

Yep. Render unto Caesar and all that.

I've never seen a homily about the abortion genocide in our own country

That's too bad because my priest did that very thing yesterday. Alexandria, VA attempted to make March 10 "Abortion Workers' Appreciation Day" but removed that item from their docket when there was a large public outcry from the (very surprisingly conservative) Catholic community.

And then prior to mass being over with, father led the congregation in a Eucharistic procession around the block in honor of the victims of abortion.

I believe in Catholicism to my core but th church and this pope... can't do it.

If you truly believe in Catholicism then the man who sits on the Chair of St. Peter shouldn't drive you away. There have been worse dudes to hold that office, I can assure you of that.

I grew up Catholic. 12 years of Catholic school. Was a practicing Catholic for the first 40 years of my life, and I'd really like to be a practicing Catholic today - but I can't do it. I have so little respect for the human beings running the Church that I end up sitting in the pew getting pissed about the things you posted (and more). I still consider myself a Catholic, but I'm not sure the church considers me one.
