What does it say about the state of the progressive left in this country that a home with an American flag is targeted for property destruction?

We all see where this is headed.

No matter who wins the election, does anyone seriously believe this nation can find a peaceful resolution to the political divide that separates us?

Police are investigating after a spate of overnight anti-Trump vandalism in at least two Birmingham suburbs. Multiple residents woke up Monday morning to find their vehicles damaged by green spray paint denouncing President Trump and touting candidate Joe Biden.



Ashley Deaton McMakin lives in Mountain Brook. Her husband was taking out the trash Monday morning when he made the discovery on the family’s GMC Yukon. The words “Biden 46” were scrawled on the SUV. Others had “Go Joe,” “Bye Trump” and “No More Trump.”

McMakin said she has no political signs in her yard and does not make political posts on social media. She said she is more sad than mad by the vandalism. “It’s not the physical damage,” she said, “it’s just disturbing the state our country is in.”

Mountain Brook Police Chief Ted Cook said as of 10 a.m., they had only received one report of damage, though they’ve fielded multiple reports of campaign signs on both sides stolen throughout the elections season.

In Vestavia Hills, Joshua Putnam also woke up to damage to his vehicle. “Was anybody else targeted by vandals last night?” he posted on Facebook. “PS – I did not have any political signage in my yard – just a flag and a wreath that were red, white and blue.”
