In fairness, that's not particularly surprising coming off the Great Recession

Gone are the days when you could support a family on a single income, with nothing but a high school diploma.

It's been 8 years

reagan took over a recession twice as bad. 10% unemployment. 17% interest rates. Terrible inflation. Who buys a house at 17% interest?

8 years later people weren't making excuses about where the economy stood

Banks are forced by the government to give home loans to unqualified people.

Banks are then accused of "predatory lending" when those loans go tits up.

Just like with college, getting government involved in lending eventually fricked up the entire market.

This is what they want.

Agenda 21 points in the direction of more people renting.

The ideal Agenda 21 building has retail and service on the bottom with office and or living above.

Multi-use buildings with stacked housing is what they want.

Poor people can't afford those types of apartments here. It's actually cheaper to own a house.

Too many went to school and paid $200,000 for a degree in African American Transgender Cultural Studies.

That being said, I can't help but lol when Gen X or Baby Boomers talk shite. How retarded do you have to be to not realize who got us to this point?

You sound like you live in a world of cliches.

But yeah, younger people are enjoying renting more.

Jobs change more. City of employment changes more often.

People are getting married later. Remaining single and renting. And then renting with a live-in partner instead of marriage and house purchase.

People are enjoying living in one area for certain years and then move and rent in a different area as they mature.

Renting allows flexibility which has value.

There's lots of reasons if you choose to think.

Obama took over at the beginning of a recession where the monthly GDP decline was indicative of the largest economic downturn since the Great Depression. Direct and massive government intervention prevented that from happening, but has disrupted the typical U-shaped pattern of recessions. Comparing the depths of the recession and degree of recovery with recession patterns that weren't influenced by government intervention is foolish.
