I made the mistake of watching the video. As someone who Is strapped, I’m not sure I would have been able to stop him. But I would like to think that I would have tried. God bless the families of the ones who were killed.

My .380 vs a rifle might not have done much, but I’d have sure as hell tried.

Why would he have been at Wegmans?

Sorry but my duty is to my wife and family. I’m using my weapon to ensure we can get to safety. Sure if we’re cornered, I’d do what I have to but I’m not putting myself or family at risk. They need me alive and I couldn’t live with myself if something happened to them because I tried to play hero.
It’s all to easy to say what you’d think you would do in a situation like that unless you’ve actually been shot at before.

I was thinking about this scenario today while shopping.
I'm not going to actively search him out. My weapon is to protect me and my family. My first job is to get them out safely.
If we escape and reach safety outside I'm defending that position with my life. If the shooter comes at me I'll go down swinging and try everything to take them with me.

Another thing to think about in this scenario is once you have your weapon out you become a second shooter. Some guy (or law enforcement) comes around a corner and sees you with a gun they could take a shot at you. Also every bullet that leaves your gun has your name etched in to it, so make damn sure you know what you're shooting at and can hit it.

After watching the video, I think the first couple of folks in the parking lot were doomed. Even a well trained marksman probably didn't have a chance. That dude just hopped out of the car and started blasting with accuracy. I think most of us just aren't mentally prepared to react to something like this in one seconds time.

People who are armed and did nothing should have their CCL revoked as far as I’m concerned.
To be fair, not sure if any in the grocery actually were armed, if any.

The first time someone shot at the shooter he'd have run like a little girl.
I wish this was true, but the security guard put a few in his chest to no avail.
