Harold Ford Jr...Did he represent a heavy AA district?

Didn’t see what you saw. But if it’s same guy- he comes from a prominent AA family of politicians in TN.

He was the up and coming Obama before Obama became Obama. He was the charismatic, unifying moderate type that was supposed to be a future dem star and somewhere along the way his career fizzled.

I don't remember why. He's popped up on the news lately and I thought, hey I remember that dude, where's he been?

Part of the Ford family in Memphis. He got his job the old fashioned way. Daddy gave it to him. As the Fords go, Harold is a choir boy. His Uncle John a state sennator went to the penitentiary. Ophelia was just batshit crazy, showed up drunk to committee meetings. Harold could have had his job for life but ran for Senate against Corker in 2006. He did well but lost. He is a "red" in the AA community

At one point Playboy had him on a short list of most likely candidates to be the first woman or minority President. His dad was caught up in the Tennessee Waltz bribery scandal and went to prison if I remember correctly

It was not his Dad, it was his Uncle, John.

Ford's district was 65% Black. I live across the border in Mississippi and get Memphis TV stations for Tenn. political news.
