Yep. Why would anyone have a revolver if they could have a semi?
It’s always been easier for me to fire.
Check that; it’s the only handgun I’ve been able to fire.
But that was before I had this new cache of knowledge.

My wife has very small hands and arthritis. I got her a Ruger revolver, and she is able to use that easily.

It was the darndest thing. I was shooting at sharks in the ocean while riding my Sea-Doo like a skateboard and it just slipped straight out of my hands.
As it turns out, it happens more often than you think.

I love mine.
And I’ll still carry it in certain situations.
But in volatile urban settings?
I’m just not sure anymore.

I’ve owned a S&W M&P Shield, a Springfield XDs, and a Sig 365 as my concealed weapon over the last 7 years. I’d take the Sig all day long. The real answer is shoot a few different options and go with whatever feel right. You’ll know.
My preference was 1. Sig, 2. XDs, 3. M&P Shield.

My hand isn’t strong enough to pull the slide all the way to the rear.

For any number of a dozen reasons.

Out of the box thinking but semi autos need more practice shooting and practice jam clearing. You must shoot and practice regularly. And higher capacity only comes with larger and heavier pistols.
Revolvers seldom stop shooting on a misfire. And a hammerless is less likely to tangle with purse crap.
Get a Ruger LCR in 327 Federal Mag. You get 6 rounds in a smallish revolver. The gun can safely use 4 different cartridges. 32 short, probably will not find them, and not the best practice round. 32 long available, no kick and accurate; excellent practice round. Can shoot all day without hurting your arm, wrist, or hand. Extremely cheap to reload. Then you have the self defense cartridges. The newer 327 fed mag is a man stopper. I wouldn’t practice a great deal with it because it’s a little snappy. If you’re too recoil sensitive you can drop to the 32 H&R Mag. Not as snappy, not as deadly, but still a man stopper. The last two cartridges are not as common as the 32 long but are get able on the internet. But you only need a box or so since most shooting is the 32 long.
Don’t believe me. Research the gun and cartridge yourself.
Remember it’s best to have any gun when you need one. If you don’t have a gun because the “best gun” is too much, then you’ve armed yourself with no gun-the worst gun. Don’t bring a cell phone to a gun fight!
Good luck, and may you only have to target shoot!

I was talking a sheriff's deputy that teaches gun safety and had a similar question regarding my petite wife. He told me his wife has a hammer less revolver that she can put her hand on in her purse while walking through a mall, down the street or whatever. I cant remember the caliber or make, though. Stay safe! (won't ask for pics)
ETA - light trigger is a double edged sword, safey wise, but Ruger has one that is a light trigger in a .38 and .357. A .357 might be a little too much kick but go the biggest caliber you can handle

For a petite female? Who is not an avid shooter?

The sound of a shell being chambered is enough to send most of them running without having to fire a single shot. For funsies you can shoot straight up and have the pellets rain down on them for added effect.

The xds was my first carry and I recentlt moved on to the p365. I got a good fit on both, but I like the sig better mostly because it’s easier to pocket carry.
But again, those 3 would be my recommendations. I don’t get going to a semi auto that holds 6-7 rounds like people have suggested...you’d be better off with your revolver since you’re comfortable with it.
