I think it was in our history some where...That when this happened--- for the inauguration they raised the flag for a few hours.

Nixon paused the 30 days after LBJ died to celebrate hostages being released from Vietnam, and lowered them back hours later.

what?

Why would anyone care if flags are at full mast or not. It is dumb. You’re here saying Trump should make some statement about it. Silly and emotional.

You’re dealing with people who think Biden ordered the flags to half-staff as a slight against Trump. I wouldn’t worry about.

Nope. I couldn’t care less if the flags are at full mast or not. Another poor assumption by a simpleton.

It is so obvious Biden ordered 30 days to half mast Trump.

30 days is standard for every former president that dies. It had zero to do with Trump.

I get why Abbot would say this...but I also know U.S. Flag Code.

4 U.S.C. §7 (m) "The flag shall be flown at half-staff 30 days from the death of the President or a former President; 10 days from the day of death of the Vice President, the Chief Justice or a retired Chief Justice of the United States, or the Speaker of the House of Representatives; from the day of death until interment of an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, a Secretary of an executive or military department, a former Vice President, or the Governor of a State, territory, or possession; and on the day of death and the following day for a Member of Congress."

So, in this case...Biden wasn't recommending this because it was a Democrat former President. It is US Flag Code to do so.

If you go to the link, it shows the requirements in code, and at the bottom has Executive Documents (Proc. No 3044. Display of Flag at Half-Staff Upon Death of Certain Officials and Former Officials) that show where this requirement is to be followed. You will note that it was Eisenhower who put these rules into code in 1954.

Section 1. The flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff on all buildings, grounds, and naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions for the period indicated upon the death of any of the following-designated officials or former officials of the United States:

(a) The President or a former President: for thirty days from the day of death.
