Reeves, on SuperTalk radio, indicated that it would be difficult for the state to redraw the congressional districts in time for the upcoming midterm election and that it could hurt Republicans overall in congressional races if Mississippi did so.

What in the mother fricking hell is this?

Some of the SC reps are saying this as well.

Is this the way the feckless GOPe punt on this midterm election?

Did they not just see what happened in Indiana?

The Republican Party is full of “moderates” who have overseen the slow descent of the nation into mediocrity in the name of fairness. They don’t have the stomach or the fortitude to implement real solutions. Mississippi has elected useless Republicans for decades all the way back to Trent Lott

Are you really going to be surprised that States are largely reluctant to draw new districts in May of an election year, with qualifications and primaries already going?

It was always a pipe dream that every State was suddenly going to draw new maps for 2026.

The RINOs are self-identifying again. Nutless Queer Brian Kemp is just as feckless.

Didn’t we all just witness what happened in Indiana?

How can they come up with this nonsense?

It’s going to hurt the GOP if they don’t redistrict for the midterms.

Watch them lose the house by one seat.

Did Chamblis threaten to quit Ole Miss if Mississippi eliminated their black Congressional district?

I shouldn’t be surprised considering how worthless they are.

It’s clear they don’t want a super majority.

Didn't Mississippi already have their primary? Like 2 months ago? You can't redraw districts after you've had the primary.

So far in the 2026 Redistricting wars Dems picked up 5 in Cali and 1 in Utah. VA would would have been +4.

Republicans are +5 in Texas, +4 in FL, +1 Tennessee, +1 Missouri, +1 NC, +1, Ohio, +1 Alabama and Louisiana, which now appears to be the only state still in play, will be +1 R.

And you somehow think that a handful of districts is going to hand the GOP a super majority?

Such a majority (which doesn't even really exist in the House since outside of amendments and overriding vetoes all votes are simple majority) isn't even possible anymore---precisely due to gerrymandering. There aren't enough "toss up" or purple seats to give either side a massive numerical advatnage in the House. They both have 200 or so in the bag, and fight over the middle 35.

Leaders of the Democrats set a political agenda and are all-in across the board. They don’t care who else it pisses off. They will push it through at all costs.

If 99% of republican citizens want something done and Republican leaders have a chance to make something happen, without fail they will start with the if we do this, then blah blah blah and nothing happens.

There are far too many republic politicians in this country that will back down from anything if something is the least bit controversial.

Those purple areas are losing population. Plus…It’s about taking advantage of the opportunity and getting rid of racist districts and ending the race baiting grift. By the next census, the GOP will have a super majority.

Well I saw a bunch of states illegally change election laws right before a presidential election, so nothing would surprise me anymore.

How many people think that the Dems would wait to redraw the lines if they had the power to do it?
