I've heard people say that a balanx ed budget is unreasonable and that spending deficits are good in certain times to prop up the economy.
Not that I believe that, but I habe heard it before

Quite frankly over the past year it’s seemed like the GOP is a dog chasing a car. They finally caught the car and now they have no idea what to do with it.
We are a mere hour away from the senate voting successfully to
1) repeal the key tenet of obamacare, the individual mandate.
2) open up drilling in alaskan wilderness, a legislative policy that has been on agenda for years.
3) Cut taxes in most significant way since 1986.

Why do the last few votes take so long? Are they in the fricking can?
It's 38-60. Who gives a frick. Vote.. it doesn't matter.

I agree. And taxes should be kept as low as reasonably possible, but why can we not balance the budget in the process?
I love how you and Bernie now care about the budget.
Look at every vote tonight. It’s basically a partisan bill.
Anyone thinking it won’t make it out of the House afterwards is in complete denial at this point.

Well an unbalanced budget is not a problem per se... so long as the GDP grows faster than the deficit does.
However it’s been growing way faster than that since early in W’s presidency.

It's stupid, but Roberts rules...everybody votes

These Democrats come up and look so proud with their amendment proposals and then they get dicked deep and voted down.
Posted on 12/1/17 at 11:58 pm to gaetti15
This is getting ridiculous

Oh jeez just what we need a Washington Senate lady talking about ANWR.

Environmentalist man.
There is a caribou here up there that is a problem, but we are talking about 2,000 acres of a 19 million + acre refuge.

Is this thing passing tonight?
Posted on 12/2/17 at 12:02 am to gaetti15
It's silly. Leave Alaska shite to the Alaska delegation. People in the lower 48 don't know shite about AK.
2 years here and I figured that shite out quickly.
Our representatives are all elected statewide because of small population.

Posted on 12/2/17 at 12:02 am to gaetti15

Alaska needs it. It is huge for j9b creation...this economy is based on oil, seafood, military and tourism.
With oil being low it's killing the economy.
