it kills me that in 2020 people STILL don't understand what freedom of speech actually means. last time I checked goodyear is a PRIVATE company.

Check again, because Goodyear is a publicly traded company. Definitely not “private”.

Context matters. Here's a hint: he ain't referring to whether or not they can tap into public capital markets.

He's not commenting on your ability to react to Goodyear's actions...

I get that, but he should’ve have been clearer. He was wrong, I was right. It’s his responsibility to add context, not mine.

Private company that is traded publically =/= the government

The United States Constitution applies to the government, not to corporations.
A private business, large or small, can legally ignore your freedom of speech. Where your employer is concerned, you have no such right.

Where is an image of the slide? I guess I have tuned out. I thought it was a letter.

My father worked at and retired from the Goodyear plant in Gadsden, Alabama. He died in 2010, and my mom is still enjoying the fruits of his work in retirement.
At one time, it was the largest rubber producing plant in the world. However, they closed the plant there earlier this year after it being there for 85 years. It could not longer compete against the labor costs in Mexico...especially after taking volume out of the plant.
While my mom is still collecting his retirement, my loyalty to Goodyear is gone.
