George Soros got his money's worth on the NN issue.

Several years ago, the push for net neutrality started in political action commitees. They had friends in the last administration, and sold the idea that the freemarket is no good and government is the only option to protect the people.
It's the same damn argument progressives make with nearly any industry, and it's usually fought against by people who think that government doesn't have all the answers. In this case though, even so-called libertarians are throwing trust in markets out the window to fight a smaller boogeyman. They are afraid of a business getting power, and don't give a shite about giving the government even more power. They forget about what government does with the power we give them EVERY frickING TIME.
Yet again to break it down…
Goverment intervened in the market. The market is skewed and not free. The progs say "see, the free market doesn't work! We need government!" And so, government becomes the solution to a government created problem… only this time the people who normally have their heads on straight have lost their damn minds and have jumped on the government train.
NN got stripped out of the FCC, but Soros is smiling anyway. He is winning the marketing battle.

He's winning because they have found the way to manipulate the millenials with echo chambers and a drum beat repetition.
Whatch what they post, copy it, put it in Google. Then be afraid of how stupid they are for being literal parrots.

This is what it boils down to: government control or market control. The younger crowd is always woo'd by promises of provision and safety by the government, as if those corrupt politicians and life-long g-men can be trusted.

The government is using law to make the net free to everyone currently.
You want the government to make a new law that makes you spend money for what you currently have now for free?

Yet another thread bookedmarked to share when the so called conservatives whine about the outcome of this.
The fact that the same folks who constantly whine about media bias think turning net traffic over to giant media companies is a good idea boggles the mind.
If you have AT&T you will be giving CNN the power to decide what and when you can watch, read, or discuss whatever they like.
I have in general learned one thing, whatever a bill is called in congress means it does the exact opposite, no matter which party is calling the tune.

It's mind boggling how this board has turned into a Soros echo army.

There are otherwise sane and thoughtful posters here pushing this NN bullshite. It's mind-boggling.

You should pay closer attention then. Because the media IS biased and and yet, which side occasionally bitches in favor of the fairness doctrine? Yup. Liberals.
Theoretically, the fairness doctrine should HELP conservatives yet, we are consistent in our recognition of how bad an idea it is.
So. You really shouldn't be surprised at all now using your frame of reference

YES!! !! This has never had anything to do with pockets or 1s and 0s. It has always had everything to do with government getting their hands on the internet.

I'll bet that most of the posters don't know or remember that this subject first came up as an agenda item of the TIDES Foundation and Open Society. Now, they have bought the whole "packets" line so hard that the hook is all the way down their throat.
Posted on 11/23/17 at 10:41 am to SoulGlo
Now they are running through downvoting everything like Trumpkins did in the primaries
No refutation or addressing of where the NN push came from and why… just "muh packets!!"

No, it's always been in thr hands of private industry. People want to turn it over to the hands of government, which has consistently proven to be untrustworthy.
