It's scary how many things in that book are common now and that shite was written in the 40s

Dammit Musick, I was going to post that one tomorrow.

Just remember, the kid smiling, according to the fascists, is the actual "fascist".

Orwell meant for that book to be a warning but the progressive left considers it a manual

Orwell was unquestionably a time traveler.

That book is unbelievably accurate with today's world. And even more so with the world the left is actively trying to create.

Scary as frick.

not really. all of the these goals were published way back then before he wrote the book. they had been discussed at least as far back as Karl Marx. all of these ideas and ideals predate 1900.

Any equally terrifying novel that Orwell himself referenced was The Lord of the World written near 1910 I believe.

Nah...the Two Minutes Hate is much more appropriate here:

"The horrible thing about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but that it was impossible to avoid joining in. Within thirty seconds any pretence was always unnecessary. A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one's will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic. And yet the rage that one felt was an abstract, undirected emotion which could be switched from one object to another like the flame of a blowlamp."
