Gen Z more liberal than predecessors?

Not good.
The next generation after Millennials, Generation Z, will likely be even more liberal than their predecessors, according to the Pew Research Center.
Generation Z is defined as people born after 1996. Many from that generation are coming into their own politically, as they are between the ages of 13 and 21 years old.
The Pew study shows plenty of similarities between Generation Z and the Millennial generation, but one particular difference stands out: Members of Generation Z want even more government involvement in the lives of individual citizens and in the affairs of businesses.
According to the survey, 70 percent of Generation Z believes government should do more to solve problems, while 64 percent of Millennials hold that opinion. That increase continues a trend that, over the past century, each generation has favored larger and larger government.
Generation Z Republicans are more likely that Republicans from previous generations to believe that blacks are treated less fairly than whites. Forty-three percent of Generation Z Republicans believe that, compared to 30 percent for millennials, 23 percent for Generation X, and 20 percent each for both the Boomer and Silent generations.
Generation Z is also much more used to progressive views on gender and sexuality, with 35 percent of them knowing someone who prefers to be addressed using gender neutral pronouns, and nearly 60 percent saying forms and online profiles should include options other than "man" or "woman" for gender.

Indoctrination works.
Hopefully real life flushes the poison from their heads or we'll be socialist eventually and the media will tell them it is great and they will be pliable enough to believe it.
The stupidity of current mainstream leftist positions is breathtaking.

We are fricked. Progressives always progress toward larger Gov though. That march ends with socialism

A generation of kids raised by women that lost their husbands because they were insufferable counts that were unfaithful in many instances, had no respect for their husbands and horrible wives. Thus they were divorced and raised weak, tainted soy boy sons.

Both parties are for bigger government when it benefits them.

I don’t know what you call the generation headed into high school next year but the ones I meet through my son are way different than that article. I wouldn’t call them conservative because they don’t care about gay marriage or several of the traditional conservative touchstones. They are definitely for less government intrusion, non-PC and hate social promotion/everybody-gets-a-trophy. Small sample size but I have been pleasantly surprised with our interactions.

Well, Mr so-called independent, I'm for smaller govwrment.
So your absolute is horse shite like most absolutes.

We see hourly examples of how incredibly stupid the populace have become.
Not surprising and not an accident.
The Left have been purposefully dumbing down entire generations of people.

I wonder where this generations indoctrination could possibly be coming from?

I think this is a great example of why sampling error can be such a mind frick. There's no way to question the entirety of Gen Z.
Furthermore, a child's mind changes daily and they are influenced constantly by what they see and hear.

One thing us Millenials can be jealous of in regards to Generation Z: they avoid student loans like fire! Generation Z is not only more socially conservative, they are also more fiscally conservative. A new national study by The Center for Generational Kinetics discovered that Gen Z students plan to “work during college, keep clear of any personal debt, and start saving for retirement.”
Forbes
quote:
A 2016 American study found that while only 18% of Millennials attended church, church attendance was 41% among Generation Z.
Polls found eight out of ten members of Gen Z considered themselves “fiscally conservative.” In certain areas, Generation Z is more risk-averse than the Millennials.
In 2013, 66% of teenagers had tried alcohol, down from 82% in 1991. A 2016 study done by the Annie E. Casey Foundation found that Generation Z had lower teen pregnancy rates, less substance abuse, and higher on-time high school graduation rates compared to Millennials.
Business Insider describes Generation Z as more conservative, more money-oriented, more entrepreneurial and pragmatic about money compared to Millennials. This make sense considering members of Generation Z have watched their parents live through the second worst economic decline in American history (starting in 2008), and have witnessed the aftermath of mass layoffs and rampant foreclosures.

Maybe they are more relaxed and accepting not to hassle or ridicule, but that's not necessarily a bad trait.
My 17 year old daughter is very conservative, very entrepreneurial, very spiritual in her Christian faith and so are most kids she hangs with. I've asked if she has any gender confused kids at school or gay kids and she says "yes, but that everyone pretty much ignores them, unless they're in drama, where pretty much everyone is gay."
I'm not worried.

And I’ll never understand why people get offended by Republican mindsets..
Regarding the op, I could have sworn we read the exact opposite about gen z in the not so distant past- that they were more conservative that is.

They keep shrinking generations. Boomers were a 20 year span(45-65) and X was about 17 years(66-83), now millennials were only 12?
As far as this poll, what do you expect from a group of children under 22 years old?

Independent or not, your absolute is horse shite as I showed you.
But latch on to your defense of your so-called independence if you like. That was the most important part of my post apparently.
Third time: name your democratic positions

I’ve read that the opposite is true. Gen z is more entrepreneurial and industrious. And tighter with money.

Every generation is more liberal than the last

I think what is actually happening is that "liberals" and "conservatives" are moving further left and right from each other even at that age.
I remember in highschool in early 2000 there was ZERO discussion of politics let alone arguments about it and such.
But my cousins that are in highschool now talk about daily arguments between the two groups.
So in turn i believe that Gen Z is more divided than we have seen in a long time
