Spoiler: The police chief is a black woman and the mayor is a woke white female Democrat

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department is launching a widespread probe into the police force in Phoenix to examine whether officers have been using excessive force and abusing people experiencing homelessness.
Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the investigation into the City of Phoenix and the Phoenix Police Department on Thursday. The probe will also examine whether police have engaged in discriminatory policing practices and will work to determine if officers have retaliated against people engaged in protected First Amendment activity, he said.
The new investigation is known as a “pattern or practice” — examining whether there is a pattern or practice of unconstitutional or unlawful policing — and is generally is a sweeping review of the entire police department.
Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke said investigators will review body camera video, along with training materials and other records. She said the Justice Department spoke with Phoenix city officials and they had expressed support for the probe.
Earlier this year, the Justice Department announced it was opening similar investigation into police forces in Minneapolis, after the death of George Floyd, and in Louisville, Kentucky, after the death of Breonna Taylor.

He's going to make them pressure the auditors. This is leverage to get them to comply

Part of the make AZ CA campaign.

We taking bets on whether or not a member of the PHX PD named in this investigation is going to be connected to the AZ Audit?
Obviously that'll be used by leftist filth to scream 'dEbOOnKeD!' as the results are given to the AZ Senate.

Of all the places I would want to be homeless, Phoenix wouldn't be one of them.

We are now, once again, in a time of the Inquisition.

I'd investigate more serious issues like why murders are as common as taking a shite in hellscapes like Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, etc. but that's just me...

By God we have an eviction moratorium, why is anyone "experiencing" homelessness?

There's what I can only assume are a husband and wife who appear to be from continental Africa who have camped out around a couple of local shopping centers. They have EIGHT shopping carts (at last count) full of all manner of shite. They move around from week to week, presumably to avoid being hassled by the local police.
While I am sympathetic to their plight, it is mystifying to me:
1) How can you be homeless during an eviction moratorium, and
2) How can anyone reasonably expect otherwise well-meaning passers-by to part with their hard earned money when literally EVERY STORE WITHIN 1000 YARDS has a Help Wanted sign in the window?

If you didn’t have housing before the moratorium stated, you aren’t fricking getting it now.

Remember when a lot of Conservatives we're in agreement with the Dems that Garland was treated unfairly by the Senate during Big Ear's last few months as supreme ruler?
Several actually claimed he was a moderate.

I remember the claims that Garland was a moderate, but I don't remember them saying Garland was unfairly treated. Lots of schadenfreude about Mr. Pen and Phone.
