If we go toe to toe with Russia or China
We will be in a position in which we cannot use overwhelming force against an adversary. (3 v 1 on offense, 1 v 3 on defense)

Truth.
When I first signed up for the gravy train at the government trough, the Russkies were our #1 enemy…with a smattering of the Balkans, Aristide, and peaky camel jockeys along the way until we started dropping warheads on foreheads of the syncopated inbreds in southwest Asia.
I always go to Mill’s quote regarding war and those who do the fighting:
I agree with him, yet Mill, though a brilliant philosopher and proponent of personal freedom, never carried the load as a soldier nor suffered the scars of service for “God and country”.
All that to say, regarding Russia or any other foe, I would like to see a sea change in how we clamor the drums of war especially now that my oldest is standing in the gap at Bragg on a work up.

I always go to Mill’s quote regarding war and those who do the fighting:
quote:
War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse. When a people are used as mere human instruments for firing cannon or thrusting bayonets, in the service and for the selfish purposes of a master, such war degrades a people. A war to protect other human beings against tyrannical injustice; a war to give victory to their own ideas of right and good, and which is their own war, carried on for an honest purpose by their free choice, — is often the means of their regeneration. A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. As long as justice and injustice have not terminated their ever-renewing fight for ascendancy in the affairs of mankind, human beings must be willing, when need is, to do battle for the one against the other
I agree with him, yet Mill, though a brilliant philosopher and proponent of personal freedom, never carried the load as a soldier nor suffered the scars of service for “God and country”.

When someone like John Kirby claims that, "diversity is key to a strong military" I want a reporter to ask this follow-on question:
"General, if you believe so strongly that wat, surely your Chief of Staff and your G3 were officers in career fields other than Maneuver, Fires and Effects branches. Surely at least one 25A, 35A, 90A, 42B, etc served in each of those roles while you were Commanding General of your Division...right?"

What kind of cyber attack would happen, I’m unfamiliar with this stuff
There are vulnerable parts of all our utilities including energy, water, waste. Financially infrastructure, security systems, large businesses, etc.
Military/Govt agency infrastructure much more likely to be a hard target, but not like you might imagine or hope. Many of what I listed are soft due to lack of funding for support and maintenance over the years. Add on your basic incompetence and we are full of holes and ripe for an IT meltdown.
Just my perspective as someone in networking for 20 years.
An aggressive cyberattack by a country intending war could disrupt all sorts of things in the general populace, creating mayhem. This is not even considering 'essential' military and government stuff.

Ramping it up even harder....war crimes and dead children 24/7 prepping the people for peak fear so they can sent the troops over by summer and begin the NATO advancement. Expect false flag cyber attacks.
