He's willing to help them find it he says, then get to looking for it. You had it and it was your responsibility to return it.

If he is a first time offender the judge will probably let him off with probation and will have to pickup trash off the side of Airline Hwy for like 4 (four) Saturdays, and a promise never ever to take state lumber ever again.
