So you're saying that the Trumpophants jizzing themselves silly over winning right now, are making fools of themselves.
This is an area where stock performance is relevant. IF markets anticipate positive results in that 5yr time horizon, stocks will perform accordingly. Those of us with market exposure would consider that winning.

Irrelevant. What was the US economy doing during that period. You challenge others' economic prowess here, yet conflate the DJIA with the US economy? Not a good look.
I bring that up simply because the OP did. Take it up with the Forbes contributor.
But you are correct. Even if the Chinese are lying by double their economy is still growing by about what ours is. They claim 6% growth still. Some of you seem to think they are in recession or even depression. They are not.
You are correct on the billions---I meant to type trillion. The point being their 35% decline in market value was still only about 25% fo the actual dollar decline in market value our market lost in the fourth quarter.

Please tell us you are not seriously asking that.
Yes I am and why not since you think there are winners in a trade war??---Clearly the Chinese are buying less from us--much less compared to the decline in what we buy from them.
You act like this is all happening in a void. That there are no ramifications for the US economy. Quit being so obtuse.

Sounds to me like war but on a different scale.
Maybe. If winning is opening the doors for US multinationals to invest more in China we are.

Of course the Chinese are buying less from us.
Part of that is due to the fact they are buying less from everyone.
That is what happens when an economy tanks!
But we also remain amidst continued punitive bilateral trade actions. So why in the world would anyone expect the Chinese to be currently buying more US products right now?

China helped fund Bill Clinton's Campaigns. I can well remember Madeline Albright doing a wink and nod at the Chinese spying, saying that She didn't "think that it was good for the World to have a single Super-power". Disgusting. China has a lot of hungry mouths to feed, but you just knew they'd go Military and start pushing from all the largesse they gained from stealing our research and manufacturing base. Oh well...the bigger they are, the harder they fall. They won't go quietly.
Your post sums up nicely why I can't get mad a China, the US Corporatocracy knew exactly what they were doing for the past +30 years. Now we're all supposed to be outraged and surprised at China's behavior. What a fricking joke.
