Youre wrong here.
People within govt made this decision, but the social pressure was already there and they've been working on it for decades.
They overtook entertainment, education, law, civics.. while you were worried about Juan stealing your jerb.

Do you think politics is "real?" YOu aint this naive.
Dude, those people have actually tried to MURDER Trump multiple times. They tried to impeach him TWICE during his 1st term, and they will try again if, God forbid, they have the numbers in Congress after the midterm elections. They raided his home at Mar-A-Lago. They indicted him in 4 different jurisdictions, and they tried to remove his name from the ballot in several states including 2024. But according to you, Roger the Great, it's just a show?
Dude, the gap between what you think you know and what you really know makes the Grand Canyon look like the tightest pussy in the history of humanity by comparison.

No shite.
So you’re gonna let the left wield the sword of culture while you sit there as an old school conservative trying to sell “fiscal responsibility” to the masses? Outdated.
You probably enjoy “losing with grace” like Mitt Romney and McCain. This is why Trump has been far more effective.
In a perfect world, yes, I would prefer a far simpler and limited government, but you can’t defeat the left when they’re fighting dirty without wielding that sword when you have the opportunity.

"They" tried to kill Gerald Ford twice in a month too. Loons will do looney things.

Go volunteer like those old blue haired ladies do.
But you would rather use Govt to control culture. Its a war you will lose.

Nope. We were on the fast track to losing up until Trump came on the scene. They said another Republican would never win the presidency again.
Trump drives them bonkers because he hits back and calls out their bullshite.
People like you are masochists and pussies.
Just admit it, you enjoy losing.

Ah, just a dysfunctional, lone gunman, right?
If you had been old enough. surely Lyndon Johnson would've put you on the Warren Commission.
Obtw, you didn't address the impeachments, the raid on his home, or all of the lawfare being coordinated out of Brandon's White House. Memo to Roger - The Deep State is not exactly in love with Donald Trump.

Populism usually ends up parked as Socialism

Does anyone remember when actual Patriots used to deride those who leveraged fear to take more control?

I still remember when Ron was supposed to win Iowa, the primary and popular vote in general.

This wasn't addressed to me, but I gladly plead guilty to being a Populist. It's about time that rank-and-file Americans become more involved in the affairs of their own government. None other than Abraham Lincoln said that we should strive to have a government "Of the people, for the people, and by the people."
And hey, Rog, rumor has it that Lincoln was almost as smart as you think you are.
PS - Summer of last year, in the course of appx. 3 days. I heard 2 different Establishment RINO's speak out against Populism. One was Mike Pence, who was trying to raise $20 million dollars to, as he said it, fight back against the rise in Populidm.
The other Establishment RINO speaking out against Populism was lyin' Paul Ryan. His stupid comment was, "I don't believe in Populism. I believe in the Constitution." What an incredibly stupid statement, as if Populism runs contrary to the Constitution. Of course, it doesn't.
You know why those two Establishment crooks hate Populism, Roger? Because they don't want the people of America to wield any power. They want the corrupt, bought-and-paid-for crooks inside the Beltway to have all the power.
Roger, you might not even know it, but you are EXACTLY the kind of misinformed person that scumbags like Pence and Ryan want all of us to be.

Trump.
Congrats.

Read this. By the Great American Ron Paul, someone you people once revered.
What Populism really is...
quote:
Populism has traditionally been understood to include trade protectionism, low interest rates, and government welfare to the poor and middle classes. The philosophy is meant to appeal to the common person, as opposed to establishment elites.
quote:
Demagogues rush to use the dreadful economic conditions to their political advantage. However, the solutions offered by so many opportunistic politicians aren’t really solutions at all. The proposals are always laced with promises that government will “do something” to fix the problem.
quote:
Unfortunately, most people still fail to understand that the economic pain they are suffering is the government’s doing in the first place. Government monetary, economic and trade policies lie at the root of the problem. The lack of a free market, sound money and genuine private property rights inhibit the return of economic prosperity. This widespread lack of understanding leads those who fall for the siren song of populism down a road of perpetual disappointment.

Good try, though.

The culture will be what it will be. The government has very limited influence, if it has any at alll.

Cutlure and govt should have nothing to do with each other on a national scale. Nothing.
Culture is a localized and community issue, period.
