Football question that sort of dovetails with recent themes.

Why is it so goddamned fricking important for non-white football players to drop the football at the very moment that they cross the goal line on an open field uncontested TD run? I’ve seen perhaps 3 easy TDs taken away over the years because the non-white player intentionally dropped the ball on the ground before breaking the plane. I’ve seen a few others where it didn’t matter because a big white lineman with a modicum of intelligence went and covered the ball in the end zone. WTF is up with this? Is this supposed to be like a mic drop? Why not just run the ball through the end zone and then toss it to the nearest official?
