Texas finished a measly THIRD at $3.4 billion (Arizona finished second at $3.5 billion).

And it wasn't even close. A whopping $16 BILLION. Then again warm weather and sunny beaches does help.

South Florida is decidedly Yankee friendly in addition to no income taxes.

The good news is it's balanced by SW Florida which is definitely GOP country.

So is the cycle raise taxes in your own state, move to low tax state when they become unaffordable, and then vote liberal there too causing them to raise their taxes?

The absurdly high property taxes in Texas don’t help.

I'm way less concerned about older retirees voting for Dems than I am with the shortfall in taxes for pensions in these lunatic states like California and Illinois. We will all be paying for it without any say in how state employees are compensated. Talk about taxation without representation.

Edit: At least NY is the most funded in the country
