Of course you don't. You are allowed to enter any business you want and they will serve you.
No I'm not allowed anything in the private sector, I can court them but I'm not entitled to anything.
Getting service, buying a product or employment is not a right.
I'm deaf and there are quite a few places that wouldn't employ me and I'm fine with that because their business and employment belongs to nobody but that business.
quote:
no actually they don't.
Yes, they do. Morality based laws regarding this subject is basically the gov't saying they own your labor and products and can force you to do something that you don't want to do. That is evil and I cannot support that. Private property laws are tantamount to a free and productive, hardworking capitalistic society and its served us well over the past two centuries.

Which is why we have laws against housing discrimination.
If the land and owners are private and not one iota is public related or funded, I have a huge fricking problem with them.

I have a problem with any law that promotes dumbassery ;-).
Then you're not being consistent with your stance of letting people whatever the frick they want to do if it doesn't hurt anybody like gay marriage hurts nobody.
Being ok with gov't interfering with a private entity in the private sector that's not harming anybody is not letting people do whatever the frick they want to do.

ABC News credible enough for you?
If the law includes public service employees like cops, EMT's and other gov't services, then I have a problem with that bill and it should be thrown out.
There can absolutely be no discrimination in the public sector.

Ah, the slippery slope fallacy.
There is no reason to believe churches will be forced by law to marry gay couples against their beliefs. Public accommodation laws dont pertain to religious organizations.
I shall now await the contraception red herring.
The first amendment was written to protect individuals from government forcing that creates such "public accomodation laws" because it states that congress shall not establish a religion or prohibit the free exercise thereof. The Christian business owners that have been sued and lost are are being denied their first amendment right in favor of a "right" that is not in the constitution. BTW, Little Sisters of the Poor (Catholic Nuns) are suing the Obama administration for forcing them to provide abortifacients and birth control pills to their employees. The government has already crossed the church line and they did it in New Jersey with the Methodist Camp that refused to rent it's facilities for a lesbian ceremony.

The courts are the only way to go in a lot of these states. Activists are putting referendums on the ballot in states where there is a path to do this like Oregon, Ohio, and Michigan. In many other states however, even in states where gay marriage would be likely to win like Wisconsin, it is impossible to go that route. Many states require legislation to go through the legislatures for two consecutive years before the the state's citizens can vote on it. In states where the GOP (and religious right) controls the legislature this will never be allowed to be voted on. Courts ARE THE ONLY RECOURSE
Gone are the days of dialogue and generating support for an issue not supported by the majority. Now, its been replaced by a three year old screaming "Give me my toy NOW."
I don't care about gay marriage. I do care about the citizens of a state having the right to decide for themselves what they want. You want to change peoples minds? Start convincing them and stop shoving it down their throats.
The concept that the minority can simply sue to get their way without going through the process is what generates hate and resentment, not because the majority is "ignorant, racist, homophobic" or whatever other key word you want to call them.
