There's a difference between confidentiality and privilege.
That said, he's clearly been threatened and is scrambling not to have to testify about this.

She needed to impeach and cross-examine him on those texts.
She looks unprepared and she should have waited on her first witness.
Not a good idea. This is a terrible direct examination and she should have gotten clarity on this when they argued the motion to quash.

Apparently isn't a lawyer and has knowledge that they were banging in 2019.
Sounds like all of these people who spoke to the defense attorney and provided insight that this was going on have gotten cold feet and or been threatened.
