quote:Yeah, I don’t care. It’s a useless talking point. Make them legal and find a way to make them an asset. As long as we try to remove them, it’s a net loss. We can make it a net gain if we stop feeling and start thinking.
Why do you people who defend immigrants always leave out that one important adjective - illegal. You do realize there is a difference?

We're talking respecting laws, borders and private / public owned land.

against the border wall
That phrase has a nice ring to it
"Get up against the border wall, and put your hands where I can see them"

You don't understand economics at all do you?
I understand economics very well. We have (at least) two labor markets in this country. Profits increase when American employers tap into the available class of undocumented workers who will work for lower wages than domestic labor. They are also, on average, better workers. There is the entire "economic opportunity" driver.
But our labor laws should disincentivize the utilization of undocumented migrant labor.
What is happening is that an entire generation of American resident youth are being blocked out of the semi-skilled and skilled labor market by the utilization of undocumented workers. That will drive them into other economies, such as drugs and crime.
Those that spout pure idealism about free markets are no different than communist idealists or any other idealist. Your Utopian fantasy won't work in reality.
