NATO
NATO and the Americans have broken every promise ever made to the Russians following the dissolution of the USSR.
NATO putting nuclear arms on Russia's doorstep is a redline that could not be crossed.
We don't have to like Russian response. But their response is appropriate from their side. We've done the same regarding Cuba multiple times.

Now examine the Cheney’s connections to all this. This is Deep State MIC corruption/enrichment ala the invasion of Iraq “enriched uranium” and “WMD” on steroids.

NY Post reporter Miranda Devine found “a curiously well-informed email” linking Biden’s classified Documents to the federal probe into Hunter’s “foreign business dealings.”
One striking email during this period stands out. It was from Hunter to Archer on April 13, 2014, a week before Joe Biden visited Ukraine to meet then-Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and refers to “my guys upcoming travels.”
For Hunter, it was an uncharacteristically lengthy email, listing 22 points about Ukraine’s political situation, with detailed information about the upcoming election and predicting an escalation of Russia’s “destabilization campaign, which could lead to a full-scale takeover of the eastern region, most critically Donetsk.
Anyone have a link to this email? Don’t see a link to it in the NY Post article. If it’s all drawn from a highly classified document why not post more about it than just describe one or two out of 22 points?

NATO never threatened putting nukes on Russia’s doorstep. This is pure Russian propaganda.
The reason Russia invaded Ukraine is right there in this 2014 e mail. They wanted Crimea and a land bridge to get there.

What do you think it means to allow Poland and Ukraine as full-fledged NATO members?? It puts US nuclear arms in play in the event of an attack on either nation.
We can hate the big bad russkies. But we have to understand their reasoning.

Poland had been invaded by Russia numerous times. Are you against letting them protect themselves. Besides that Poland isn’t on the Russian border.
In 2014 Putin had designs on Ukraine. The e mail quoted shows that. Later that test they took Crimea unopposed and invaded Eastern Ukraine proper where they did face resistance.
None of this was done because Ukraine wanted in NATO.
Since Russia had proven to be an aggressive neighbor with designs on all of Ukraine, it’s only common sense fir them to seek NATO’s help just as Poland did. You’d be stupid not to do so.
Russia set the table, they forced other nations into action. That’s it plain and simple.

That analysis won't sit well with the Putin fans on here

Poland is on the Russian doorstep, just as Cuba is on the US's. I'm fully aware of Polish history- I have Polish in laws. They despise Russians. I mean, effing hate them.

I cannot disagree more. I'm not a Russophile by any stretch. But to think that this is all because of landbridge in Crimea is very myopic. We saw similar moves in the South Ossetia crisis when Tsakishvili wanted to go after ethnic Russians in Georgia. We, as Americans, do not understand ethnic solidarity, but it is a real thing throughout Europe- especially with Russians.
The Russians cannot tolerate Ukraine in NATO. Just as we couldn't tolerate Cuba in the Warsaw Pact.

When Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 NATO wasn’t discussed. Since the invasion, yes Ukraine moved in that direction.
Would you also approve of Russia invading Poland too? Would you approve of Russia invading Finland? Sweden? The reason all these nations want in NATO is Russia.
Does Russia have some kind of permit you invade their neighbors just because?
